Transparency

Hi, Reader! It's me, Katherine :)

In today's climate, I'd be remiss to not acknowledge how frustrating and disheartening it is to find out your favorite author voted against human rights. I hope to put your mind at ease: I never have—and never will—vote for the orange cheeto. I proudly voted for Kamala Harris in 2024, and will continue to vote for humanity in each election.

I'm a pro-choice, liberal, agnostic feminist, who believes the people of Palestine, Sudan, and the Congo should be free, and that trans rights are human rights. Diversity is divine and I firmly believe that Black Lives Matter, and BIPOC and queer voices deserve to be amplified more than just a few months out of the year.

I'm also an indie author, which means I'm responsible for everything from the first kernel of inspiration for a story, all the way to marketing it—even years after its release. I've poured my heart and soul into my books, and I'm especially proud of the blood, sweat, and tears I channeled into its pages. I am unequivocally against the use of generative AI and will never use AI in the creation of my books. This means I will shamelessly use the shit out of em dashes, and you should know—I'm a slut for an Oxford comma. I also refuse to commission any art without first verifying the artist doesn't use AI, either.

Lastly, I believe there are separate spaces for both authors and readers, and I promise I won't ever enter uninvited.

Please do not tag me in critique videos, I'm not saying I won't block you.

Sorry, this is actually last—fuck ICE.

I hope this statement will put your mind at ease, even if it's fairly presumptuous to think I'm someone's favorite author. Please know that if I didn't mention a specific topic, it's not because I'm choosing not to comment on it. I value integrity and transparency, so if you have any questions on where I stand on any particular topic, I invite you to send me an email.

P.S. If one day a publishing house ever decides to withdraw any considerations or offers because of the above statement, just know I never would've signed with them, anyway.
